Tüske Winery is a small family winery in the Szekszárd wine region. The name “Tüske” (meaning spike, thorn) comes from the great-grandfather of the founder’s wife. His name of German origin (Istlstecker) was difficult to pronounce, so everyone just called him Tüske. He was a wise old man and his advice was to buy back some of the old family estates during the wave of privatisation in the early 1990s. Since then, the estate has grown to 11 hectares. The vineyards are dominated by the leading varieties of the region: Kadarka, Kékfrankos, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon.
