Kékfrankos (a synonym for Blaufränkisch) is a delicate red varietal from the Carpathian Basin, capable of expressing its place of origin. With its bright aromas, chalky tannins and charming cherry fruit, it is a variety with great gastronomic qualities.
Spontaneous fermentation in a traditional wooden fermenter and some small plastic bins. Delicate extraction with daily 2x pump-over. Pressed without pumping after 5-22 days of skin contact. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Barrel ageing for 8 months in large, 1000 litre Hungarian barrels. Estate bottled without fining, but with coarse filtration.
