Cabernet Franc, 2019

It is a world-famous variety, cultivated all over the world and typically used in blends. It is the most important variety of the Villány wine region and is often bottled as a single-variety wine. The grapes for Bíbor Birtok’s Cabernet Franc are grown on an excellent south-facing slope with very low yields. The yield never exceeds 1 kg per vine, and this year the average yield was not even one bunch per vine. While the concentration of aromas is extraordinary, the alcohol content remained non-excessive. Consume it on its own or paired with red meats and mature cheeses.

Cultivation: medium-height cordon, hand-harvested, temperature controlled fermentation, aged in oak for 4 years followed by 6 months in bottle.
