Egri Bikavér Superior, 2019

Based on Kékfrankos (40%) with Blauburger, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc making up the rest (20% each). We worked with these varieties on a 9.6 ha area (Cinege vineyard), one of our premium red wine-producing areas. Each batch fermented separately in stainless steel tanks and then aged in oak barrels individually. After 16 months, the blend was completed, and the finished Bull’s Blood (Bikavér) was returned to large 30hl oak barrels for a few months to achieve a more balanced wine, before being bottled (in the new Eger bottle introduced in 2018).
