Homola Kékfrankos, 2019

The Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region is best known for its white wines. Although reds are quite characteristic here, the most important black grape variety, as in the whole country, is Kékfrankos. The Kékfrankos of North-Balaton has always been a very elegant, ripe but not tannic red wine, and Homola’s red wine philosophy fits in perfectly with this style. The grapes come from Paloznak and the surrounding area, including Tihany, which gives the wine an exciting mixture of soil types (Permian red sandstone, marl, basaltic tuff). The wine was aged for 24 months in 500l barrels.
