Kékfrankos, 2018

The most common blue grape variety in Hungary, it has been grown in the Villány wine region for a long time. It is rare to find it in the premium category, but Bíbor Birtok emphasises excellent quality. The 2018 harvest was extremely small, which explains the extreme concentration of the wine. Its beautiful fruitiness and ripeness are complemented by barrel notes, which are enriched in turn by the tertiary notes of bottle ageing. This is a wine to be enjoyed on its own, but it’s also great with roast meats and roast game.

The grapes are grown on a slope with excellent ecological conditions, with a load of 0.7 kg per plant. Harvested by hand. Temperature controlled fermentation. Aging in oak barrels of 2000 litres for 3 years. Bottled half a year ago.
