The Kékfrankos vineyards are located on the Guard Hill. They are a mix of micro-regions and are situated at an altitude of 250-350 meters above sea level. The forty-year-old vineyards only yield 6 bunches of grapes, i.e. 1 kg per vine. Harvesting is delayed to ensure that all the ripe red fruit and spicy character of the grape are preserved in the wine. We follow the New World style in the pursuit of harmony. The aroma follows the taste, and the 12-month oak barrel aging ensures the aged light-bodied character. It keeps the ripe cherry fruity character with black pepper spiciness in harmony.
The harvest is manual, the bunches are collected in small 20 kg crates, and the berries are sorted by a vibration table. All grapes are processed by gravity, fermented on skin for 16 days with natural yeast combined with malolactic fermentation, and gently pressed at 1 bar pressure. We gain only 60-65% juice from 1 kg of grapes. Aged for 12 months in 5-6-year-old 225-litre barrique barrels.
