Király, 2017

The single vineyard 100% Furmint comes exclusively from the extremely steep (40%) terraces of the Király grand cru hand-cultivated registered organic bush vines, with a yield of 0.3 kilogram per plant. The pressing was done by Endre Demeter on the 117-year-old hand press, and the fermentation and ageing happened in local Zemplén new oak barrels for 7 months. The wine is of great sharp elegance with a very long mineral aftertaste of the very special andesite volcanism forming the terroir. It accompanies fish and seafood perfectly, thus great structured enough for red meat main dishes.
