Szamorodni is Tokaj’s other traditional botrytised sweet wine style. It differs from Aszú in the way grapes are picked for it. For Szamorodni, the crop is not picked berry by berry as for Aszú wines, but whole bunches that are partially affected by botrytis are harvested and then pressed. At least half of the bunches we picked for this particular wine were affected by botrytis.

- Brief description of viticulture, fermentation, vinification and maturation: The clusters were destemmed, crushed and the berries soaked for 12 hours for a maximum extraction of sugar, flavours and aromas before gentle pressing. The wine was fermented in steel tanks to 12% alcohol and then aged for a year in local Hungarian oak.
