Padi-hegy is one of the most prominent places in the Rátka area. Millions of years ago there were about 400 active volcanoes here, which resulted in a very diverse soil structure. Due to the hot water activity (geysers) and the influence of the Pannonian Sea, a wide variety of fossils (petrified wood, fish imprints, leaf imprints) can be found in the vineyards. Minerals dissolved in the water are carried by the roots and absorbed by the grapes, thus ending up in our wines.
