Royal Tokaji By Appointment Mézes Mály Dry Szamorodni Issue no.12, 2016

Dry Szamorodni is the traditional style of dry Tokaji, unique to the region. The nose is full of nutty, almond aromas and dried fruit. Bone dry on the palate, it is fresh with a balanced and savoury finish.

A blend of healthy and botrytised grapes was used for this wine with a total potential alcohol of 15.5%. The original batch was the base must of the Mézes Mály Aszú 6 puttonyos. After pressing and fermentation, the wine was aged for 5 and a half years in used Zemplén oak barrels in the cellar. Over this time the wine matured under a thin veil of flor, losing around 0.5% alcohol per year.
