Tokaji Furmint Betsek, 2022

Bright medium yellow appearance, the intense nose is dominated by a flinty minerality which is underpinned by aromas of ripe pear, quince and a hint of fresh citruses. The palate is driven by the definite but still sophisticated acidity together with creaminess of the ripe stone fruits alongside with marked minerality. Elegant barrel notes, complex structure with long lasting finish. Volcanic bedrock – the most important is the white rhyolite tuff, which dominates the vineyard, but it is often mixed with andesite, sometimes a little basalt, and quartz.

Vintage: 2022 was the driest and warmest vintage in the last 100 years… Extreme conditions, extreme reactions from the vines, but an amazing endurance and fight for every single drop of water in the vines. The wines are well-balanced, with pronounced but delicate acids, a warm, crisp structure and a very drinkable style.
