Yield control is the foundation of the classification system in the Eger wine region. Under the brand name Egri Bikavér only dry red wine with PDO can be marketed. Bikavér is the world-famous wine of the region; a blend of at least 4 different red base wines, with Kékfrankos forming the backbone of 35-60%. There are 3 quality levels: classicus (max. yield 100 hl/ha), superior (max. yield 60 hl/ha) and grand superior (max. yield 35 hl/ha and must be a single vineyard).

- Brief description of viticulture, fermentation, vinification and maturation: This Bikavér is the blend of 4 base wines. Grapes were harvested at full ripeness. After destemming and light crushing, fermentation took place in 150hl stainless steel tanks for 24-30 days. After fermentation, the mash was left to settle for 2 weeks. The base wines were put into barrels of various sizes and aged for 18 months. After blending, the wine was further aged in the bottle.
